Phenol can absorb water in the air and liquefy. It has a special odor, and the extremely dilute solution has a sweet taste. Extremely corrosive. Strong chemical reaction ability. It reacts with aldehyde and ketone to produce phenolic resin, bisphenol A, and acetic anhydride; Salicylic acid reacts to produce phenyl acetate and salicylate. It can also carry out halogenation, hydrogenation, oxidation, alkylation, carboxylation, esterification, etherification and other reactions. Phenol is a solid at normal temperature and cannot react with sodium smoothly. If the method of melting phenol by heating and then adding metallic sodium is used for the experiment, phenol is easy to be oxidized, and the color of phenol changes during heating, which affects the experiment effect. Someone took the following method in teaching, which was simple and achieved satisfactory experimental results. Add 2-3 ml of anhydrous ether into a test tube, take a piece of metal sodium about the size of soybean grain, use filter paper to absorb kerosene on the surface, and put it into ether. It can be seen that sodium does not react with ether. Then add a small amount of phenol into the test tube and shake it. At this time, it can be observed that sodium reacts rapidly in the test tube, producing a large amount of gas. The principle of this experiment is that phenol is dissolved in ether, so that the reaction of phenol and sodium can proceed smoothly.
Phenol is widely used in the manufacture of phenolic resin, epoxy resin, nylon fiber, plasticizer, developer, preservatives, pesticides, fungicides, dyes, pharmaceuticals, spices and explosives.

Delivery method
Customers can order and deliver products from chemwin, or they can receive products from our manufacturing plant. The available modes of transport include truck, rail or multimodal transport (separate conditions apply).
In the case of customer requirements, we can specify the requirements of barges or tankers and apply special safety/review standards and requirements.
