[News & Trends]:What are the production methods and production processes of CPP, and what are the commonly used raw materials

The manufacturing method of CPP (chlorinated polypropylene) is an important raw material for chemical production, widely used in fields such as coatings, inks, adhesives, and plastic modification. This article will introduce the manufacturing method of CPP, including steps such as raw material preparation, chlorination reaction, and post-treatment

1、 Raw material preparation

1 Polypropylene (PP) selection: Choose polypropylene with moderate molecular weight, high melting point, and good fluidity as the raw material to ensure the smooth progress of the chlorination reaction

2. Solvent selection: Choose solvents with good stability and no impact on the reaction, such as benzene, toluene, etc

3. Selection of chlorinating agents: Commonly used chlorinating agents include chlorine gas, liquid chlorine, etc

2、 Chlorination reaction

1 Add polypropylene and solvent to the reaction vessel and stir evenly

2. Introduce a chlorinating agent and control the reaction temperature within an appropriate range, generally between 50-90 ℃

During the reaction process, continuous stirring is required to ensure sufficient contact between the materials

By controlling the amount of chlorinating agent and reaction time, CPP with different chlorine contents can be obtained

3、 Post processing

1 After the reaction is completed, pour the reaction solution into a distillation kettle and evaporate the unreacted solvent and chlorinating agent

2. Wash the distilled CPP with water to remove residual acidic substances

3. Dry the washed CPP to obtain the final chlorinated polypropylene product

4、 Notes

1 During the chlorination reaction process, temperature and pressure should be strictly controlled to prevent equipment overpressure and material decomposition

2. Chlorinating agents are corrosive and corrosion-resistant equipment and pipelines should be selected

During the operation, attention should be paid to safety to avoid the leakage of chlorinating agents and the occurrence of fire accidents

In summary, the manufacturing method of CPP includes steps such as raw material preparation, chlorination reaction, and post-treatment. During the operation process, strict control of process parameters and equipment conditions is required to ensure product quality and production safety.
