[News & Trends]:The production method and process flow of PE packaging film, and what are the commonly used raw materials

The manufacturing method of PE packaging film

1. Introduction

PE packaging film is a widely used raw material for chemical production. Due to its excellent durability, tear resistance, transparency, and waterproofing, it is widely used in the packaging of food, medicine, electronic products, and other fields. This article will provide a detailed introduction to the manufacturing method of PE packaging film, including steps such as raw material selection, blending, extrusion, stretching, cooling, and winding

2、 The main raw material for manufacturing PE packaging film is polyethylene resin, and high-density polyethylene (HDPE) or linear low-density polyethylene (LLDPE) should be selected as the main material to improve the strength and toughness of the packaging film. As needed, some additives can be added, such as antioxidants, anti UV agents, color agents, etc

The raw material ratio should be based on the specific requirements of the product. Generally speaking, the ratio of HDPE and LLDPE can be between 70% -90%, and the ratio of additives should not exceed 10%

3、 Mixing

Add the well proportioned raw materials to the mixer for high-temperature mixing. The purpose of mixing is to thoroughly mix the raw materials, improve the uniformity of the molecules, and at the same time, evenly disperse the additives in the polyethylene resin. The temperature and time of mixing should be determined based on the performance of the equipment and the properties of the raw materials. Generally, the mixing temperature is between 150-200 ℃ and the mixing time is between 10-30 minutes

4、 Extrusion

Add the mixed material into the extruder, and extrude the material into a film through the rotation and propulsion of the screw. During the extrusion process, attention should be paid to controlling the extrusion speed, temperature, and pressure to ensure the quality and uniform thickness of the film. The extrusion temperature is generally between 180-220 ℃ and the pressure is 5-10MPa

5、 The extruded film needs to be stretched through a stretching process to improve its strength and toughness. Stretching can be done in either a unidirectional or biaxial manner, and the specific method should be selected based on the requirements of the product and the capabilities of the equipment. The stretching ratio is generally between 2-5 times

6、 Cooling

The stretched film needs to be shaped through a cooling process to maintain its stretched state and properties. Cooling is generally achieved through air or water cooling, and the cooling temperature should be controlled between 30-50 ℃ to avoid internal stress and deformation of the membrane

7、 The cooled film is wound into rolls through a winding machine to complete the production process. During the winding process, attention should be paid to controlling the winding speed and tension to ensure that the film is wound neatly and not damaged

8、 Quality control

Throughout the entire production process, it is necessary to strictly control various process parameters to ensure product quality. At the same time, it is necessary to conduct quality inspections on the produced products, including testing of indicators such as thickness, strength, toughness, and transparency

9、 Environmental protection and sustainable development should be emphasized in the production process. Try to choose environmentally friendly raw materials and additives, reduce the discharge of waste and pollutants in the production process, and improve the energy efficiency and resource utilization of equipment

10、 Conclusion: The manufacturing method of PE packaging film includes steps such as raw material selection, ratio, mixing, extrusion, stretching, cooling, and winding. During the production process, it is necessary to strictly control various process parameters to ensure product quality. At the same time, attention should be paid to environmental protection and sustainable development, and the energy efficiency and resource utilization of equipment should be improved. Through scientific manufacturing methods, high-quality and high-performance PE packaging films can be produced to meet the needs of different fields.
