Manufacturing method of mannitol
I. INTRODUCTION
Mannitol is a kind of raw material for the production of chemicals which is widely used in the fields of chemical industry, medicine and foodstuffs, etc., and has high economic value and use value. Therefore, it is of great significance to study the manufacturing method of mannitol to improve product quality, reduce production cost and promote industrial development. In this paper, a common manufacturing method of mannitol will be introduced.
II. Materials and equipment
1. Materials: glucose, sodium hydroxide, hydrochloric acid, activated carbon and so on.
2. Equipment: reactor, centrifuge, filter, drying equipment, etc.
III. Manufacturing method
1. Preparation of alkaline solution of glucose: add glucose into the reaction kettle, add appropriate amount of sodium hydroxide solution, stirring and heating to a certain temperature, so that glucose is completely dissolved, and get the alkaline solution of glucose.
2. Generation of mannitol: add a certain amount of hydrochloric acid to the alkaline solution of glucose, adjust the pH value, so that glucose isomerization reaction occurs under acidic conditions to generate mannitol.
3. Decolorization and filtration: Add an appropriate amount of activated carbon to the reaction solution, stir for a certain period of time and then filter to remove the pigment and impurities in the solution.
4. Crystallization and centrifugation: Cool the filtrate to a certain temperature, so that the mannitol crystals precipitated, and then centrifuged to obtain mannitol crystals.
5. Washing and drying: Wash the mannitol crystals with a small amount of water to remove the surface impurities, and then dry to get pure mannitol product.
4. Precautions
1. During the operation, the reaction temperature and pH should be strictly controlled to ensure the smooth progress of the reaction and the quality of the product.
2. The dosage of activated carbon should be adjusted according to the color and impurity content of the solution to ensure the decolorization effect.
3. During the crystallization process, the cooling rate and temperature should be controlled to ensure the quality and yield of mannitol crystals.
V. Conclusion
The mannitol manufacturing method introduced in this paper has the advantages of simple operation, easy availability of raw materials and high yield, and is suitable for industrialized production. By strictly controlling the operating conditions and raw material quality, the quality and purity of mannitol products can be further improved to meet the demands of different fields. Meanwhile, safety management and environmental protection measures should be strengthened during the production process to ensure the safety and sustainability of the production process. In conclusion, it is of great significance to study and develop the manufacturing method of mannitol to promote the development of chemical industry, improve product quality and reduce production cost.
