[News & Trends]:NPG production method and production process, what are the commonly used raw materials

N-propylethylenediamine (NPG) is an important raw material for the production of chemicals, which is widely used in the fields of lubricants, fuel additives, pesticides, pharmaceutical intermediates and so on. In this paper, we will introduce a manufacturing method of NPG, which takes acrylonitrile as raw material and produces NPG through multi-step reaction.

I. Raw materials and equipment

1. Raw materials: acrylonitrile, hydrogen, ammonia, sodium hydroxide.

2. Equipment: reactor, condenser, separator, storage tank, pump, valve and so on.

2. Manufacturing steps

1. Hydrogenation reaction of acrylonitrile

Mix acrylonitrile and hydrogen according to a certain proportion, add into the reactor, and under the action of catalyst, carry out the hydrogenation reaction to produce acrylonitrile.

2. Propionitrile hydrolysis reaction

Mix acrylonitrile with water, add sodium hydroxide solution, heat to a certain temperature, carry out the hydrolysis reaction to produce propionamide.

3. Ammoniation reaction of propionamide

Mix propionamide with ammonia, add to the reactor, and carry out ammoniation reaction under certain temperature and pressure to produce N-propyl propionamide.

4. N-Propyl propionamide dehydrogenation reaction

Add N-propyl propionamide into the reactor, pass hydrogen gas, and carry out dehydrogenation reaction under certain temperature and pressure to produce N-propylethyl diamine (NPG).

3. Precautions

1. Control the temperature, pressure, material ratio and other parameters of each reaction step to ensure the smooth progress of the reaction.

2. Use high quality catalyst to improve the reaction efficiency and product purity.

3. Carry out regular maintenance and overhaul of equipment to ensure normal operation.

4. Safety and environmental protection

1. Strengthen the safety training of employees and improve safety awareness.

2. Strictly implement the operation regulations to prevent safety accidents.

3. Strengthen the safety management of the production site to ensure the safety of production equipment and personal safety.

4. Strengthen the environmental protection management of waste gas and waste water to ensure that the discharge meets the standard.

V. Summary

This paper introduces a method of manufacturing NPG from acrylonitrile, which includes the steps of acrylonitrile hydrogenation reaction, acrylonitrile hydrolysis reaction, acrylamide ammoniation reaction and N-propylacrylamide dehydrogenation reaction. In the manufacturing process, it is necessary to control the parameters of each reaction step, use high-quality catalysts, and strengthen equipment maintenance and overhaul to ensure production safety and environmental protection. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen the staff safety training and environmental awareness, improve production efficiency and product quality, and create better economic and social benefits for the enterprise.
