[News & Trends]:Polypropylene-KCL production methods and production process, what are the commonly used raw materials

Manufacturing Method of Polypropylene-KCL

Polypropylene-KCL is an important raw material for the production of chemicals, which is widely used in the fields of plastics, fibers and coatings. In this paper, we will introduce the manufacturing method of polypropylene-KCL, including the steps of raw material preparation, polymerization reaction and post-treatment.

I. Raw material preparation

1. Propylene: Propylene is the main raw material of polypropylene-KCL, which requires high purity, generally need to reach more than 99.5%.

2. Potassium chloride: Potassium chloride is the raw material for the preparation of KCL, which also needs to ensure a certain degree of purity.

3. Catalyst: Ziegler-Natta catalyst or metallocene catalyst is generally used.

II. Polymerization reaction

The polymerization reaction of polypropylene-KCL generally adopts solution polymerization method or gas phase polymerization method. The solution polymerization method is introduced as an example:

1. Add propylene, potassium chloride and catalyst into the polymerization kettle and maintain a certain temperature and pressure.

2. Under the action of stirring, propylene and potassium chloride are polymerized under the action of the catalyst.

3. As the reaction proceeds, polypropylene-KCL is gradually generated and the solution becomes viscous.

3. Post-treatment

1. Flash evaporation: The solution after polymerization reaction is flash evaporated to remove unreacted propylene and potassium chloride.

2. Extrusion pelletizing: the polymer solution after flash evaporation is pelletized by extruder to obtain polypropylene-KCL pellets.

3. Drying: The pelletized material is dried to remove water and other volatile substances from it.

4. Precautions

1. During the polymerization reaction, temperature and pressure need to be strictly controlled to ensure the smooth progress of the reaction.

2. The type and dosage of catalyst have important influence on the molecular weight, molecular weight distribution and other properties of polypropylene-KCL, which need to be adjusted according to the actual needs.

3. In the post-treatment process, extrusion granulation and drying need to be ensured to avoid product quality problems.

In conclusion, the manufacturing method of polypropylene-KCL needs to strictly control the process parameters of each step to ensure the quality and performance of the product. At the same time, it also needs to be adjusted and optimized according to the actual situation in order to improve the production efficiency and economic benefits.
