[News & Trends]:PPR production methods and production process, what are the commonly used raw materials

PPR (random copolymerized polypropylene) is a polymer material widely used in the field of raw materials for the production of chemicals, with excellent heat resistance, cold resistance, pressure resistance and corrosion resistance. This article will detail the manufacturing method of PPR.

I. Raw material preparation

1. Propylene monomer: propylene is the main raw material for the production of PPR, characterized by high purity, low water content and low impurity content.

2. Catalyst: titanium catalyst or metallocene catalyst is usually used to promote propylene polymerization reaction.

3. Auxiliaries: such as antioxidants, anti-ultraviolet agents, color agents, etc., in order to improve the performance and appearance quality of PPR.

II. Polymerization reaction

1. Pre-polymerization: add raw materials such as propylene monomer, catalyst and additives into pre-polymerization kettle, and carry out the pre-polymerization reaction under a certain temperature and pressure to generate low molecular weight polypropylene.

2. Main polymerization: transfer the pre-polymer into the main polymerization kettle, and carry out the main polymerization reaction under higher temperature and pressure to generate high molecular weight PPR.

3. Pelletizing

The main polymer will be extruded to become strips through the extruder, and then cut into pellets of a certain length by the pelletizer to get the PPR pellet product.

IV.Post-processing

PPR granules are subjected to post-processing such as drying, sieving and packaging to obtain the final PPR product.

The above is the basic manufacturing method of PPR, the specific production process also need to pay attention to the following points:

1. Control the quality of raw materials and ratios to ensure that the product performance and quality.

2. Master the temperature, pressure and time of the polymerization reaction and other parameters to ensure that the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of the product meets the requirements.

3. Keep the equipment clean and stable during granulation to avoid impurities and appearance defects in the products.

4. Pay attention to the storage and transportation conditions of the products during post-processing in order to prevent the products from moisture, deterioration or damage.

All in all, the manufacturing method of PPR requires a certain degree of skill and experience, as well as strict control of the production process to ensure the quality and performance of the product.
