Manufacturing method of PP (polypropylene) fiber
I. INTRODUCTION
PP fiber is a synthetic fiber widely used in the field of chemical production, with excellent physical properties and chemical stability. In this paper, the manufacturing method of PP fiber will be described in detail, including the processes of raw material preparation, polymerization reaction, spinning, stretching and post-treatment.
II, raw materials preparation
1. monomer: propylene is the main monomer for the production of PP fiber, requires high purity, generally need to reach 99.5% or more.
2. initiator: the role of the initiator is to initiate the polymerization of monomers, commonly used are organic peroxides and azo compounds.
3. molecular weight regulator: used to control the molecular weight of PP, commonly used is hydrogen.
3. Polymerization reaction
Polymerization reaction is generally used in solution polymerization or suspension polymerization. Solution polymerization is the monomer, initiator, etc. in the solvent polymerization, to get high molecular weight PP solution; suspension polymerization is carried out in water, the monomer in the role of the initiator polymerization, to generate PP particles.
four, spinning
spinning is a PP solution or particles into fibers. General use of melt spinning or solution spinning method. Melt spinning is the PP particles heated molten, extruded through the spinneret, cooled and cured into fibers in the air; solution spinning is the PP solution through the spinneret extrusion, solvent evaporation to get the fiber.
V. Stretching
Stretching is an important process to improve the strength and elasticity of PP fiber. Stretching is generally carried out in hot water or hot air, through the stretching of the fiber molecular chain orientation, to improve the strength and elasticity of the fiber.
VI.Post-treatment
Post-treatment includes washing, drying, winding and other processes to remove impurities on the fiber surface and improve the quality of the fiber.
VII. Precautions
1. Strictly control the quality and proportion of raw materials to ensure the smooth progress of polymerization reaction.
2. In the spinning process, keep proper temperature and stretching speed to ensure the quality and yield of fiber.
3. In the post-treatment process, pay attention to the temperature and time of washing and drying to avoid damage to the fiber.
VIII.CONCLUSION
The manufacturing method of PP fiber includes the processes of raw material preparation, polymerization reaction, spinning, stretching and post-treatment, in which each process requires strict control of the process parameters to ensure the quality and yield of the fiber. Through the introduction of this paper, it is hoped that it will help readers to understand the manufacturing method of PP fiber.
