[News & Trends]:The production method and process flow of polyester industrial yarn, and what are the commonly used raw materials

The manufacturing method of polyester industrial yarn

Polyester industrial yarn is a synthetic fiber material widely used in chemical, textile, construction and other fields, with advantages such as high strength, wear resistance, and chemical corrosion resistance. This article will introduce the manufacturing methods of polyester industrial yarn, including raw material preparation, polymerization reaction, spinning, stretching, and post-treatment processes

1、 The main raw materials for manufacturing polyester industrial yarn are purified terephthalic acid (PTA) and ethylene glycol (EG). These two raw materials need to undergo certain treatment before they can be used for subsequent polymerization reactions

1. Treatment of PTA

PTA needs to react with acetic acid under high temperature and pressure to generate acetate for subsequent polymerization reactions. The production process of acetate requires control of reaction temperature and pressure to ensure product quality and yield

2. Treatment of EG

EG needs to undergo dehydration treatment to remove moisture and impurities, ensuring the normal progress of polymerization reaction. Dehydration treatment is generally carried out using adsorbents such as molecular sieves or alumina

2、 After preparing the raw materials, the acetate and EG are mixed in a certain proportion, and a catalyst and stabilizer are added to carry out the polymerization reaction. The polymerization reaction generally adopts the continuous polymerization method, which requires controlling parameters such as reaction temperature, pressure, and stirring speed to ensure the molecular weight and molecular weight distribution of the product

3、 The polyester polymer obtained through spinning

polymerization reaction needs to be processed into fibers through spinning. Spinning generally adopts the melt spinning method, where the polymer is heated and melted, and fine fibers are sprayed out through a spinneret, which is then cooled and solidified to form fibers. During the spinning process, it is necessary to control parameters such as the aperture of the spinneret, spinning speed, and cooling temperature to ensure the quality and yield of the fibers

4、 The fibers obtained by stretching

spinning need to undergo stretching treatment to improve their strength and elasticity. Stretching generally adopts the multi-stage stretching method, which gradually increases the stretching ratio to make the fiber structure more compact and improve the mechanical properties of the fibers

5、 After stretching treatment, the fibers also need to undergo post-treatment, including heat setting, oiling, winding and other processes, to obtain the final polyester industrial silk product. Heat setting is to stabilize the fiber structure and improve its dimensional stability; Applying oil is to increase the lubricity of fibers, facilitating subsequent processing and use; Winding is to roll fibers into a certain shape on a reel for easy storage and transportation

In short, the manufacturing of polyester industrial yarn requires multiple processes, including raw material preparation, polymerization reaction, spinning, stretching, and post-treatment. Each process requires strict control of process parameters to ensure product quality and output. At the same time, it is necessary to strengthen environmental management in the production process, reduce the discharge of waste and pollutants, and improve the sustainability of production.
