Manufacturing method of magnesium chloride
Magnesium chloride is an important inorganic chemical raw material, widely used in food, medicine, agriculture, chemical industry and other fields. In the field of chemical production raw materials, there are several main manufacturing methods of magnesium chloride:
I. Acid digestion method
Acid digestion method is a commonly used method to manufacture magnesium chloride, which mainly utilizes hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid to react with magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide to generate magnesium chloride and water. The specific steps are as follows:
1. add magnesium oxide or magnesium hydroxide into the reactor;
2. add hydrochloric acid or sulfuric acid, control the reaction temperature at 60-80℃;
3. after the reaction is finished, filtering, washing, drying, to get magnesium chloride products.
The advantage of acid digestion method is that the process is simple and easy to operate, but it will produce a large amount of acidic wastewater, which needs to be treated.
Two, electrolysis method
Electrolysis method is a more advanced method of manufacturing magnesium chloride, mainly through the electrolysis of molten magnesium chloride to get magnesium metal and chlorine, and then the chlorine reacts with the magnesium metal to generate magnesium chloride. The specific steps are as follows:
1. heating and melting magnesium chloride;
2. electrifying electrolysis in the electrolysis tank to generate magnesium metal and chlorine gas;
3. reacting chlorine gas with magnesium metal to generate magnesium chloride.
The advantage of electrolysis method is the high purity of product quality, but the energy consumption is larger and the production cost is higher.
Third, compound decomposition method
Compound decomposition method is a method of using compound decomposition reaction to manufacture magnesium chloride, mainly using the compound salt containing magnesium chloride to react with other compounds to produce magnesium chloride and another compound. The specific steps are as follows:
1. mix the compound salt containing magnesium chloride with other compounds in a certain proportion;
2. carry out the reaction at a certain temperature to produce magnesium chloride and another compound;
3. filter, wash and dry to obtain the magnesium chloride product.
The advantage of the compound decomposition method is that the process is simple and easy to operate, but it is necessary to find suitable compound salts and reaction conditions.
The above are the three main manufacturing methods of magnesium chloride, each with its own advantages and disadvantages, and you can choose the suitable method according to the actual situation. No matter which method is used, it is necessary to strictly control the product quality and production cost, improve the production efficiency, and provide high-quality raw materials for the production of chemicals.
