Manufacturing method of m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride

I. INTRODUCTION

m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride is an important raw material for the production of chemicals, which is widely used in the fields of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, dyes and so on. In this paper, a manufacturing method of m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride will be introduced, which has the advantages of simple operation, high yield and low cost.

II. Experimental part

1. Experimental raw materials and apparatus

Experimental raw materials: aniline, acetyl chloride, hydrochloric acid, sodium hydroxide, anhydrous ethanol and so on.

Experimental apparatus: three-necked flask, stirrer, constant pressure dropping funnel, reflux condenser tube, thermometer, pH meter, etc.

2. Experimental steps

(1) Add a certain amount of aniline and anhydrous ethanol in a three-necked flask, stir well, and then slowly add acetyl chloride dropwise, controlling the rate of dropwise acceleration and keeping the reaction temperature at 50-60℃.

(2) After the dropwise addition, continue to stir the reaction for 2 hours, then raise the temperature to 80-90 ℃, reflux dehydration for 2 hours.

(3) After cooling to room temperature, add a certain amount of hydrochloric acid, adjust the pH to 4-5, precipitate m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride crystals.

(4) Filter, wash and dry to obtain m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride finished product.

3. Experimental results and discussion

Through the experiment, we obtained m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride with high purity and the yield reached more than 85%. During the experiment, we found that the factors such as reaction temperature, pH value and titration rate have a large influence on the experimental results. Under the condition of controlling these factors, better experimental results can be obtained.

III. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

1. Structure and properties of the product

m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride is a white crystalline powder with a high melting point, easily soluble in organic solvents such as water and ethanol. Its structure contains functional groups such as amino and carboxyl groups, which have strong reactivity.

2. The reaction mechanism is discussed

In the experiment, aniline and acetyl chloride undergo acylation reaction to generate acetanilide, and acetanilide then undergoes salt formation reaction with hydrochloric acid to generate m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride. Factors such as reaction temperature and pH need to be controlled during the reaction to ensure the smooth progress of the reaction.

IV.CONCLUSION

In this paper, a manufacturing method of m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride was introduced, which has the advantages of simple operation, high yield and low cost. Through the experiment, we obtained the finished product of m-aminoacetanilide hydrochloride with high purity, which provides the basis for further application.
