Manufacturing method of organosilicon DMC
I. Introduction

II. Raw materials and equipment

3. Manufacturing steps
1. Add methanol and silicon dioxide into the reaction kettle according to a certain proportion, and heat to a certain temperature.
2. Add catalyst and stir for a certain time to make methanol and silica react fully to generate methylchlorosilane mixture.
3. Fractionate the methylchlorosilane mixture and separate the components with different boiling points to obtain DMC.
4. Precautions
1. Control the reaction temperature and reaction time to avoid overreaction or underreaction.
2. The amount of catalyst should be appropriate, too much or too little will affect the reaction effect.
3. Maintain proper pressure and temperature during fractionation to avoid decomposition or loss of DMC.
V. Advantages and shortcomings
The method uses common raw materials and equipment, is simple to operate, low cost, and is suitable for large-scale production. However, there are some shortcomings of the method, such as the production process will produce a certain amount of waste gas and waste water, which need to be treated; at the same time, there will be a certain amount of DMC loss in the fractionation process.
